Hi, I’m Abby, the florist behind wild Hopes floral studio

I became a florist by accident, but it makes so much sense for me.

I graduated with a degree in Architecture in 2023, feeling lost and unsure of what the future held. I couldn’t continue with my career path, after the stress had impacted my mental and physical health. I knew I loved working with people, listening to their needs and making it happen.

I found floristry through my part-time retail job, and was encouraged to pursue this interest further by my colleagues and family. I completed my City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Floristry at Glasgow Clyde College in 2026, where I was awarded ‘Floristry Student of the Year’.

I started wild Hopes floral studio in January 2025 and it has turned my life around. It’s been a wild ride so far, exploring everything a florist can be, whilst finding my feet within the industry as a queer wedding specialist (aka I am queer and here for weddings of all genders). I’m so grateful for all of the opportunities my clients provide me with: I get to be creative and feel useful too!

Outside of floristry, I also work as a tutor in widening access to higher education work - I love teaching and working with young people. In my spare time I am a passionate sock knitter, sudoku scribbler and queer book reader.
